Our first visit to Fiji was 24 years ago for our honeymoon – a long time between drinks!
The first decision was to stay at a resort on the mainland, probably the coral coast or an island.
We decided on an island and Treasure Island in particular as it was not too big or small and had a kids club should Molly wish to participate.
We were a bit skeptical that Molly would want to participate in the kids club. Not only did she participate but most days she couldn’t wait to leave us for dust to join all her new found friends as well the the fantastic Fijians that ran the club, particularly Sala.
It was our first “beach” holiday outside Australia and a good choice too.
Molly had a great time with & without us. We had a great time relaxing, swimming, snorkeling, para-sailing, eating & drinking!
It was our first real taste of snorkeling in an environment of so many tropical fish & colourful coral, an experience that would have a bearing on quite a number of holidays to follow.
Whilst there Belinda had a quick bout of “I shouldn’t have drunk the tap water” sickness, which fortunately only lasted a day.
With our trip being of a limited time we made a decision to make the most of our time on the island itself. As a result, instead of leaving the island on the day before we flew out and staying one night in Nadi, we decided to leave the island by helicopter on the morning of our flight home which took us straight to the airport. Livin’ the life!
A great place for our first family holiday in the Pacific.
